Fasting Guidelines:
If you are planning on being sedated for your surgery, do not consume any food or drink (including water) for at least 6 hours prior to your surgery appointment. Failure to follow this instruction may be life-threatening.
If you need to take medications, you can do so with a small sip of water.
Clothing Recommendations:
Avoid wearing tight clothing on the day of your appointment. Opt for a short-sleeved shirt or blouse for comfort.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes; avoid flip-flops or sandals.
Hydration and Restroom Use:
Stay well hydrated with fluids the day prior to surgery.
Use the restroom 30 minutes before your appointment time.
Health Considerations:
Do not ignore a head or chest cold when oral surgery is scheduled. Contact us immediately if any symptoms are present; a change of appointment may be necessary.
Accompaniment:
Ensure that a responsible person accompanies you on the day of the appointment. This person must remain at the office during surgery and drive you home afterward.
Have someone at home to take care of you for the remainder of the day after surgery.
Post-Surgery Guidelines:
Refrain from driving or making important decisions within 24 hours after surgery.
Avoid wearing fingernail polish or acrylic fingernails.
Do not wear contact lenses during the surgery.
